I will gladly no longer be any sort of mod if it means you, @JCOSU86 , will stop having the chance to ruin the entire internet.

This is turning out better than I hoped, as I was really shaking in my boots on AKAK's behalf. We all know C loves revoking stuff. Why, just the other day he revoked my pass to the Mod bathroom just because I dropped a green M & M.

I was thinking of becoming a hippie. No, wait, not a hippie. A hermit? Or was it a harlot? No, no... a hobbit. There we go.

In any case, what occurred here was an administrative decision based on long-standing precedent. There's no political discussion outside the political forum, and that is clearly where the thread was going if not for the split. Even if all the mods were utterly driven by individual politics, it would not change the fact that the split was necessary under forum rules.

Also, there is another longstanding tradition concerning paintchips and attempts to save posters determined to sink themselves, but it isn't really dire until the lolcats show up.
