On today’s episode of “Land-Grant Uncut,” we are bringing you unedited audio from the Saturday, Aug. 31 press conference following the Buckeyes’ 52-6 over Akron. At the mic will be Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day, true-freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, and starting quarterback Will Howard.
The trio discusses the season opener and breaks down what did and did not go right. Day reflects on what changed in the second half to allow his team to have more success following a rather clunky first two quarters; Smith discussed the mindset that allowed him to move on after dropping what very well might have been a touchdown pass on the second play of the game; and Howard opened up about the experience of playing in The Shoe for the first time.
