Whew, good thing you clarified, because we all know that road wins in other conferences are cake! :roll2:

Playing teams that you play every year (sometimes twice) is hard, as you know each other and their schemes well. This year we have some new coaching blood, that is true, but it is a good thing to get a confernece win over a familiar opponent and keep alive your shot at the SECC.

that's such a different strategy from other conferences....where things are completely different.

What's the difference between "road wins" and "SEC road wins"? Why the mini-lecture about the significance of winning conference games on the road?

Because you can fuck up on the road in Stillwater to open the season and still win the SEC and make the Sugarbowl.

I wish the Big Ten worked that way.

(I get what you're saying.....but phrases like "SEC road wins are hard to come across" are the same thing as saying "playing on the road in the SEC is harder than playing on the road somewhere else")

Not harder, but definitely more important. Making Atlanta is the priority, and then what comes after is the gravy.

ok, explain to me how it's any more important to win a road conference game in one conference compared to another.

but type slow and use small words, in other words, explain it to me like i was an auburn grad.
I'll explain to you how it's any more important to win a road conference game in one conference compared to another as soon as you show me were I said it was more important to win a road conference game in one conference compared to another.

It is more important within our own conference to win our own conference games than to win OOC games for the reasons Woof said. That does not say or imply that winning our conference games is more important for an SEC team than it is for an ACC or Big 10 team to win their won conference games.

It is more important for an SEC team to win its SEC games than it is for a MAC conference opponent to win theirs - arguably - but only because if we win our conference games we go to a BCS Bowl, and if they win all of their conference games they get to watch us play that BCS bowl on TV.

more important than what?

A) More important than playing non-conference on the road.
Well no shit. Believe it or not, ACC teams put more importance on in-conference games. So do Big East teams. Not sure about Pac-10 teams....but I know Big Ten teams do. I heard a vicious rumor that even WAC teams feel this way.

B) More important than in-conference games for non-SEC conferences.
:so:

You can put up as many pictures of straw men as you want....you're either insulting my intelligence or insulting my conference.

*edit - neither of which I really care about....especially the last one. just stop posting that stupid picture and pretending like you're not saying one of the two of those things.
