UFC 84 BJ Penn vs. Sean Sherk

I did. Sherk could not get past Penn's reach. Penn picked him apart with his jab, causing a cut under Sherk's right eye in the first. The second was more of the same, except this time a cut was opened under Sherk's right eye. The third was more until the last 10 seconds, Penn thew a combo of punches. The momentum from that sent Sherk into the fence. When Sherk was bouncing off the fence, he ducked his head, and Penn landed a beautiful knee to Sherk's dome. A few well placed punches later and Penn was the winner as time expired in the third. At first it appeared that Sherk would be saved by the bell, but then Rogan said that the fight was called as Sherk couldnt continue. Sherk got mashed up, and BJ did not look like he fought!

Unless you think that GSP is coming down to 155, I don't see how that fight happens. BJ just can't put that kind of weight on and be effective. He never really looked real comfortable at 170. I would like to see that fight because GSP's takedown game versus BJ's you can't take me down game would be a clash of wills.

Love him or hate him BJ Penn is one of the best technical fighters in the world today. His stand up was always good even back in his debut fight in the UFC some 40 PPV's ago. He has seemingly worked very hard at making it devastating.

He's always had very good striking and was supposed to be the better striker last night.

I think GSP would be too much for B.J. and beat him with ground n' pound. B.J. has improved, but I think GSP has improved more since the last fight.

Not related to UFC 84, but this is the only mma thread I've seen here. Anybody watch the EliteXC joke last night on CBS? What a crock of shit. The best fight of the night was between the two ladies. Kimbo Slice is a fucking joke and was handed that fight, despite tapping out in the first round and sitting under a full mount eating forearms and elbows for the final 2 minutes of the second round. Can't say I didn't expect that, but still...would have been nice if there were some pretense of a fair fight there.

Do you have a link to a vid of him tapping out. If you are referring to Slice tapping his hand telling the ref "i'm ok",that wasn't a tapout.
