Game Thread UCLA at #1 tOSU, Sat. Nov. 15th, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

UCLA has fell back to earth quickly after that 3 game run they had where they looked competent. 50 point loss to Indiana and then losing at home to a beat up Corn team playing their backup QB. Think this one gets ugly quick
With how badly west coast teams seem to struggle, Buckeyes could probably play worse than they did against Purdue and still put up 50. Think the 31 point spread gets covered by half time imo.

They play to slow to score 50 by halftime. 49-10 final score is my guess.

Purdue was just stupid little things that kept that game close. Minimal block in the back on a long TD run, dropped 1st down pass by Tates backup, and the endzone interception. I expect about the same domination of UCLA, hopefully cleanedup.

Taking my 6 year old son and 9 year old daughter to their first night game. Weather looks mild for mid November and probably won’t be too stressed about anything during this game. Trying to soak up moments like these before my kiddos grow up and enjoy what has been a pretty amazing run for the Buckeyes.
I'm glad you'll have good weather but I must admit a part of me wanted this game to be a snow-storm, so those surfer boys would get a real taste of Big Ten football. I could see them rubbing their arms in the 2nd quarter, hurrying to the locker room and then coming back out for the 2nd half with a "how long do we have to be here?" attitude.

It's a bad match up for UCLA.

Their "strength" is a sporadically good offense and we all know their QB's story. His odds of success against our defense are low.

Their weakness, and its a glaring weakness, is their defense. They aren't going to be able to protect themselves.

Day has been throttling the offense so the scores keep staying in the high 30's but I just wonder if he isn't going to start stretching the O's legs just a little bit these last two tune up games.

I think there are a lot more ways OSU covers this one than ways that UCLA could cover.

I happen to know the OL coach for UCLA. Andy Kwon. He's married to the daughter of good friends of ours. Tessa and Andy met at Alabama when they were both on staff. This was Andy's big break. I hope he lands in a good situation. Tessa just gave birth to their second child and first boy.
UCLA has zero chance in this game, so I hope for continued progress ahead of The Game and no injuries.

I just hope they put a spy on Lamaleava right from the get-go and not wait till halftime to make that adjustment.

He's 90% of their offense and I don't want to see him running wild around the field till we figure out something.
After halftime would still be more than a quarter earlier than when Penn St decided to put a spy on him.

I know exactly what you mean and loved the playoff game last year against Tenn. It’s going to be mild for hardened midwesterners but I’m guessing the bruins will be frosted over and ready to get back on the plane for SoCal.

It’s a good game to start with tempo and hit some big plays. With how inconsistent the OL has been, I’m hoping they’d play better with less standing around so they can get in a rhythm.

Hoping Tate is healthy, because I could see it being another Minnesota game plan, but against a worse team.
