U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

And already Pepi nearly pulls it even. What the fuck is Burhalter thinking? Is the old thinking still rooted in U.S. national team thinking with the old veterans getting the nod at almost every turn or is it a legit concern that these guys can't play more than a couple times per month?
IMHO its for the former not the latter … that and politics and the push to win with MLS guys

This is the part where you give berhalter credit

Its actually ok to get 1 point on the road here. It went sideways, got it back. And yes you can't just burn dudes.
I dont get the "burn dudes" part but if Berhalter had guys that could play wouldnt it have been the smarter thing to do to start the best, maybe get a lead, then sub them out and play with the lead instead of now racing against time to try and even salvage a point. I mean the Buckeyes dont start the third string then bring in the starters to try to pull out the win right? Thats why I was unhappy. You got a glimpse of what could be and the opportunity to build the necessary chemistry, then fumble it away with guys that just dont play well together.

eh I’m sure most on here that follow USMNT would say I’m way to conspiracy theory on my thoughts on the team… they are likely right
If there wasn't issues with FIFA before I'm sure it would be harder to imagine.

I wore a flag on my shoulder for more than a decade so I can't understand why anyone wouldnt want the absolute best for it at all times. I'm sure I never will either

This is dumb.
Why is it dumb, because you dont agree or is there part of it that isnt an option. I watched and played sports at every level, only practicing at the pro level though to be honest, and at that age I could have played a game almost every day, barring injury of course. If that thinking is "dumb" as you say, maybe the collective thinking of soccer in the U.S. is dumb and should be changed if it is ever to be successful. Break it down for me in your perspective

Huh?

Yes. They have club schedules and workloads and we have deep injury concerns and we have games that more important than others.

You are being dumb

Maybe us soccer is too, but you haven't made that case.

I mean its super cool that you are an almost professional athlete. I am a complete message board tin pot dictator.
