U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

I am not a soccer fan but after years of rolling my eyes at it I am at least trying to root for the national teams and learn about the game. My question to you guys is this: is Haiti supposed to be capable of putting this much pressure on the U.S.? Since I've been watching this game they appear to be able to do whatever they want...except shoot.

No. This has been garbage and most of the problems stem from defenders and midfielders turning the ball over and being caught out of position.

Short answer- no, they shouldn't be doing this. Haiti are a spirited team, with more talent than say, Cuba who was thrashed 6-0 by Mexico yesterday.

Still, my expectations were a 3-0 or 4-0 win. The coach didn't do any favors with an uninspiring lineup that hasn't played together. Heck, even if they had played together for some time I still don't think the lineup would mesh.

Just a blah, borderline shitty performance tonight. Haiti deserves to have pulled off the shocking upset, honestly. Disappointing as a follower of the national team.

Should pretty much submit this to every soccer publication and save those writers' time.

If you liked this lineup, just wait until the next match. Klinsmann experimented a little, and with nothing to play for in the final group stage match he'll have license to do all kinds of crazy [Mark May].
At this point Clint Mathis could start on this teams back 4. I hope he uses the game to try and drag the defense out of Homerian levels of epic failure
