Maybe they can play with it (the attack needs better tactics, if any).

"It is just getting tiresome around this U.S. team at the moment," said Kristian Jack, soccer analyst for Canada's tournament broadcaster TSN. "There's far too many stories around this team. We've had the turf, we've had Hope Solo, we've had Wambach moaning that she can't score a goal because it wasn't on grass. They are not playing that well. That should be the story."

Oh and the Men's team starts their Gold Cup run against Honduras. Excited to see the first team Yanks back on the field in competition after last summer's World Cup. May not be easy, but obviously they are the favorites and top dogs in this region. Time to prove it again.

Re-posting the below from what I said last summer. Also to give people an idea about the Gold Cup- this will help determine who plays in the 2017 Confed Cup as the World Cup warmup tournament. It's a big deal.

Well, now that the run is over, I hope some of you guys stick around.

While the World Cup is certainly the ultimate goal every 4 years, I want to also point out the US will be participating in some exciting competitions in the interim-

Next summer is the 2015 Gold Cup, a tournament held for this region's teams (CONCACAF). This tournament will decide a spot in the 2017 Confederations Cup, a year before the World Cup, in Russia. The Confederations Cup features teams from each of the 6 FIFA regional Confederations, the host nation (Russia) and the reigning World Cup champion. Some of you may remember the 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa in which the US miraculously escaped from their group (3-0 win vs. Egypt and a Brazil 3-0 win over Italy in the last match of group play did the job) before taking out eventual World Cup champion Spain 2-0. They fell short in the championship after blowing a 2-0 halftime lead to Brazil, but the Confederations Cup is a great tune-up for teams as they get to play in the host country, host stadiums, and against the world's best a year before the big show.

The USA having already won the 2013 Gold Cup will be defending the title. A win for the Yanks automatically places them in the Confed Cup, while a win for any other nation places the USA and that team in a 1-game playoff for that opportunity. It will likely come down the the US and rival Mexico next July right here in the United States.

The following year features the 2016 Copa America Centenario (the 100th year of the regular Copa America). This is generally reserved for the South American region (CONMEBOL) as their regional trophy, although they often invite guest nations to fill spots. However, this time the tournament will be its largest and most competitive yet. Pitting the best teams from this hemisphere, the tournament will have 10 South American teams as well as 6 CONCACAF/North American teams (US, Mexico, and 4 qualifying nations). It will take place in the United States in June 2016.

From there you're looking at World Cup Qualifying and hopefully the 2017 Confed Cup to fill your void until World Cup 2018 kicks off in Russia. There's still plenty to follow, so if you get the chance, throw on some Red White and Blue and continue to support these Yanks any chance you can find. It's only going to get better.
