2020 TX RB EJ Smith (Stanford signee)

Scroll up and see the date on his tweet of final five.

And if I caused a problem with pronoun ambiguity, to clarify:
He = EJ

He != Day

To be fair, I think it was obvious.

I don't know why you are being so snarky. If you felt my tone in this thread was is the same manner to which you replied, I apologize. I assure you that wasn't my intent.

The Tweet he made on 6/23 lists his Top 5, Ohio State being one of them and no commitment date in sight. That scenario to me doesn't spell out that the ship has sailed.

You're taking it as the staff has taken away the opportunity. Again, to clarify:

My point != that.

And also, the above was not snark. It will be abundantly clear when I issue snark.

The point I'm trying ever so hard to make is that the kid / family may still have an interest while being able to read tea leaves well enough to put more eggs in different baskets. That, in turn, leading to creating relationships and interests elsewhere such that the kid / family move on... not the staff.

Absolutely. That was sort of my point in the beginning. I would hope that the staff kept recruiting him and telling him that they would love to have him and not pay attention to what the internet is saying about who is and isn't going where.
If they made it clear that they were going in a different direction or the internet rumors were true, then he's almost certainly not going to land in Columbus.

I hope the former is the case but I have absolutely no idea either way.
