TV Show: "Kill it, cook it, eat it"

Thump

Hating the environment since 1994
  • Just saw this show the other night on Current TV Channel 358 on DirecTV.

The premise is that it takes 6 Englanders, some meat-eaters, some not and it allows them to follow and watch the butchering process so they can see where some meat products come from. The 6 participants choose the animals for slaughter and then eat them the next day.

The animals are raised on a "traditional" farm in Devon and taken to a local butcher unlike most meat that comes from commercial feedlots and goes through large scale meat-processing plants.

I've watched two of the episodes about beef and lamb and believe there are two others upcoming about chicken and pork.

For those of you who have no idea how "some" meat gets to the store this may be an enlightening show.

WARNING- For those of you with a queasy stomach, they show the actual butchering and killing of the animals.
