I unfortunately live in Michigan, and am sick of being shown Michigan State games instead of Ohio State games, so does anyone know how much a college football package would cost for comcast(direct tv is probably the same price too)? I doubt you can get a season pass for just Ohio State games, so I guess I would just have to hope that they decide to show OSU games in the package too...? I really dont know much about it, but if anyone does, it would be of great help, Comcast doesnt like helping their customers for some reason.

I heard some news about the possible creation of a Big Ten channel, but Mandels article...

...was all I could find, and it says nothing definitively.
 
ESPN Gameplan is the major cable package available....it is usually in the $119-129 range for the season, depending on if you hit their "Early Bird" special or something like that. They usually show every game available on ESPN+ and ABC, so basically all OSU games...and all games of "major" teams...are covered.

Also, with all of the regional Big Ten game of the week coverage (we get here in Illinois, anyway) and ESPN and ESPN2 covering OSU, you usually don't need the Gameplan in this region of the country for OSU except for the early games (N Ill, Cincy, SDSU, etc.)

Are you sure it wasnt the other way around? While I wasnt at home for the Penn State game, I am 100% positive that both the Michigan and Texas games, on ABC, were not in HD. Or are you saying that with Gameplan they were in HD?

The great thing about this coverage was that last year we got all of the games. Even the lesser games were broadcasted on ABC and a few on ESPN and ESPN2.

You are correct, the Texas and scUM games were not in HD last year.
3 games were in HD - Penn State, Indiana (for those outside of Columbus the game was broadcast on ESPN-HD, ESPN barred the HD signal from being carried in Columbus, screw espn) and the Fiesta Bowl.

The Michigan game sure looked like hi def. I've since recorded it on DVD and it looks better than a normal telecast.... just remembered, technically broadcast means radio, telecast means TV. But I had had beaucoup beers by the time that one was over so maybe the difference wasn't obvious.

Separate Issue...

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but I have a question to any of the internationally located OSU fans....

I will be in Hong Kong for The Game this year, and I wanted to know if the best way to catch The Game over there would be to get the ESPN gameday online package in order to watch the game online over there.

Let me know if anyone has had any experience with watching games online in Asia or any international location.
