Went from a finesse pro-style passing attack to a spread - passing game.
Nothing's changed. Offensive minded coaches out of their league.

Notre Dame won't win again until they make a commitment to the running game and sound defense.

There's 43 seconds left, you're down by 1, have 1 timeout left and the ball around the 20 yard line. YOU HAVE A KICKER WHO HAS MADE 18 STRAIGHT FIELD GOALS (a program record). Do you:

A. Run the ball a couple times to take the clock down to 3 seconds and then kick the game winning field goal.

B. Attempt a fade route into the end zone, risking an interception which guarantees a loss despite the fact that you don't need more than a field goal to win.

It should come as no surprise that NoD chose B...it wraps up a week of terrible decisions.

Their alumni have refused to accept that they suck. Alumni averted the inside momentum to join the Big Ten. You really have to wonder (a) how their TV contract revenue is looking going forward and (b) what would happen if the Big Ten walked away from them.

I would pay to be a fly on the wall during those negotiations.

It's about the style points. They want that Rudy moment. It's all part of the self-delusion and denial that is Notre Dame.
