The more apples to apples comp would be how many NFL draft picks the same 5 years, no?
The conference thing gives them an excuse.
OU doesn't have to go through an OSU/Clemson/Bama to get to CFP.

Oklahoma: 26 overall draft picks; 3 first round; 4 second round; 4 third round
Michigan: 24 overall draft picks; 4 first round; 2 second round; 8 third round
Oklahoma had two #1 overall picks (Mayfield, Murray), but both were transfers into the program.
So the two programs produce about the same amount of talent, but Michigan actually produces more high end talent. Maybe coaching matters?

The only thing I would challenge is the first 2 years of Jimmy's 5 were clearly being done with Hokes talent.
Small sample but the past 3 have been the true indicators of how well Jimmy and his staff identify, recruit and develop talent.
Any coincidence that the last 3 editions of The Game of been successively worse ass beatings?

Virtually all of scUM's QBs who have played any significant time in the Jimbo Era have been transfers (and in the case of Brandon Peters, transfer out). I don't think a single one has been drafted.
Meanwhile, both of Oklahoma's transfer QBs were 1st round picks. Coaching AND development.

I always forget about the gap between a season and the draft
When you look at Jimmys high water mark it was his 2nd year (2016 team). It was all of Hoke's guys as 4th and 5th year seniors.
They had 11 guys drafted from that team.
They have had 7 drafted in the two drafts since (from the same source).
My point being, take:
2018 draft: 2
2019: 5
2020: TBD
and you start to get a look at how Jimmy produces talent moreso than baking in the 2016 and 2017 draft numbers.

Just sayin': 1954 was a very good year for Ohio State football:
The 1954 Buckeyes were on track for an undefeated season, a Big Ten Title, and a trip to the Rose Bowl. It all came down to their matchup against the No. 12 Wolverines on November 20, 1954.
After some early struggles, Ohio State came out with a 21-7 win. With the Buckeyes winning the Big Ten and securing their tickets to Pasadena, fans rushed the field, cutting through the Michigan Band who was still performing. Calls for an apology for the incident echoed throughout the upper-ranks of the Ohio State administration.
After taking a vote, the University Senate agreed to send a letter apologizing to the Michigan Band "for damage to instruments and uniforms only," not necessarily that the incident took place.
After all of this, the word "apology" is not used once in the final statement they agreed on. To quote Major League II, "next time, don't stand on the tracks when the train's coming through."

1. What the fuck was the Michigan band doing on the Buckeye's home field after the game?
2. 1955 and the Bucks couldn't return to Pasadena due to Big Ten rules in force - Michigan was heavily favored and one of their players announced that they had their bags packed for the trip to California after they won the game. Throughout the game Buckeye players would shout, "Unpack, Unpack, you ain't going nowhere."
