Point in fact: 1947. Lots of veterans back on campuses. Pretty sure this is the year that Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch, back from a three year hitch, played for Michigan and not Wisconsin where he had begun his college career. Hirsch actually played at TTUN in 1943, after he enlisted in the Marines following his 1942 season at Wiscy. He transferred to TTUN to be in the V-12 Navy Training program.
