Looking up Paul Brown's OSU record and came across this nugget. If there wasn't already enough reasons to hate these cod sacks:

The 1943 season was a disaster for Brown and the Buckeyes. Depleted by the military draft and facing tough competition from teams on Army and Navy bases, Brown was forced to play 17-year-old recruits who had not yet enlisted.[46] Ohio State had affiliated itself with the Army Specialized Training Program, which did not allow its trainees to participate in varsity sports, while schools such as Michigan and Purdue became part of the Navy's V-12 training program, which did. The Buckeyes ended with a 3–6 record. In three seasons at Ohio State, Brown amassed an 18–8–1 record.[7]

You made me grab the Park encyclopedia. In '42, they lost to the Wisconsin because of bad water from the old trains that were put back in operation (dysentery, sorry Oregon Trail: not dead). In '43, OSU went 3-6. They played against rosters of professional players or military men against civilian teams. Hell in '43 and '44, programs like Bama, BC, Tenn, and Auburn dropped football because they couldn't field enough players for the team. Then Brown got drafted, but he coached the Great Lakes team and then moved onto Cleveland. Then came the graveyard of coaches.

Edit: shenanigans thread = Fuck Michigan.

DFBIA coming skrong with the laughs

https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/harbaugh-outlasts-meyer-tribe-has-spoken

Harbaugh outlasted Meyer. He never has to apologize for this. If haters try to come at you saying Harbaugh never beat Meyer - remember that Meyer did not have the cojones or physical strength to last a 10 year war. He quit at 4 years - perhaps seeing that ultimately going 4-6 would literally kill him. Harbaugh has integrity and the advantage of not having his health being destroyed by a guilty conscience resulting from repetitive public lies. Harbaugh outlasted Meyer, Meyer didn't have what it takes to have a 10 year war. Meyer has a legacy of lies, deceit, corruption and winning at all costs. I am thinking and hoping that Harbaugh will have a different legacy when all is said and done.

Harbaugh will have the better legacy when all the dust settles in my opinion.

Obviously not head head to head, but Michigan will always reign supreme over Osu.

The lesson being that having a team full of 5* players is a good way to win a bunch of games? With the level of talent they have, getting crushed by Purdue was coaching malpractice, and cost them a playoff appearance.

Also, it’s not a coincidence that ethically challenged coaches find it easier to recruit. Things are easier when you aren’t hindered by bothersome things like rules.

and in the end, I am fine with the idea that a culture of cooler poopers is SO incredibly focused on one team, their complete existence hinges on it. Meyer inherited a depth of talent, and it ran it's course just like it did in Miami. He's a football locust. I want to defeat osu as much as anyone, but I'd never sacrifice the integrity of the program in favor of it. Whereas most buckeyes will sell their souls for it. It's a game played by teens and 20 somethings...life goes on.

At first I was gonna chastise the OP..then I realized there might be 3% of merit in it, that part of Meyer's leaving was going out as undefeated vs Michigan, knowing he'd probably lose next year without Haskins... but then I came to my senses.... I still won't chastise the OP, because I know why he wrote this... he is pissed as I am that we won't have another shot at beating that snake....

The call for a "10 year war" is pretty hilarious

Khaki's only kept it within 1 score once and got blown out twice. What kind of mental gymnastics do you have to go through to convince yourself that he could have beat Meyer (if he was around 6 more years) 5 or 6 times in the next 6 games?

Next year they won't have Carlos Hyde.
Next year they won't have Ezekiel Elliott.
Next year they won't have J.T. Barrett.
Next year they won't have Dwayne Haskins.
etc.

Next year we won't have Robinson, Gardner, Rudock, Speight, O'Korn. (not sure I anticipate that line this offseason)
