As much as I would like to pile on, I recall us being in a very similar scenario two years ago and it worked out pretty well for us.
We also had a running back who would go on to turn into Superman while running behind maybe the country's best OL and carry the offense in our starter's absence. I don't see DeVeon Smith suddenly developing vision/ability or their OL suddenly becoming better than mediocre. I don't know that the drop-off will be significant, necessarily, but I certainly don't see the pieces to suddenly overcome the flaws that finally caught up to them. They're a flawed team that lost a flawed QB allowing another flawed QB to step in. Probably a wash.
