ttun News (2016 version)

For Sam to be this blunt about Gary potentially going to Clemson, it's a giant declaration. He's arguably the best UM insider out there but a huge sunshine distributor (especially when UM trails but still has a shot).

If this happens watch all of the scUMmers go to their keyboards to blast illegal recruiting. They'll forget about hiring Gary/Pepper's old high school coach and the lady whose kid was a grad transfer from Stanford. But that's a big 'IF'. I am not buying any of this Clemson stuff.

It will still be a great class, with or without Gary. Hard to believe that one trip to Clemson would trump about 6 official/unofficial visits to UM though...
Yeah, I thought the same thing.. altho there has been rumblings here and there for a long time that he has family down there... so guessing Mom made the selection

It will be a good class without Gary, which will finish towards the bottom of the top-10. It will be thin at OT and DT, the latter with just one prospect, 3-star Dwenfour, Gary's pal. They also sunk a ton of resources into NJ, for a variety of reasons, but with Gary as the top reason.

That last tweet is vintage Sam. He's easily the most connected insider in UM recruiting, but he typically only admits they are trailing or losing when things are really bad. When they're well behind but have a puncher's chance, it's more like 50-50. That's what made the first tweet (and other comments elsewhere) so shocking.

well if you hate the place or don't have interest you aren't going to keep going back. That's how I read multiple visits to one place. Especially on your own dime for unofficials.
Michigan might come in a close second after leading throughout. How do you leap from that to "hate the place or don't have interest"?
