I don't believe Michigan "lost" any of these guys, though Jordan Elliott could be the first.
Roster management and pulling scholarships is a staple of today's brand of college football and OSU is no stranger to either. That said, like most things in recruiting, Harbaugh has turned it up to another level.
Yes I read that late afternoon yet too. He's being kept warm if others fall through, which is why Sam Webb said it was not likely but never say never. He is also a much more talented and versatile recruit. He made sense when he verbals unlike the parade of name recruits that harbaugh seemingly filled up his class with. They are still recruiting Viramontes. His dad said Harbaugh calls him daily. I really liked that kids tape too.
The only question has been how many of the Shirtless Jim Harbaugh summer tour kids will be cut...
DB Richardson the latest to decommit from U-M
Richardson, 6 feet and 165 pounds, was a mostly unknown cornerback whom U-M coaches liked at a Summer Swarm satellite camp in south Florida. They offered him a scholarship soon after, and he accepted.

Sad news for the kid, but IIRC this was predicted when he accepted...
Then why did Harbaugh offer him in the first place?
A number of these kids have been pegged as impending departures for awhile according to their insiders. They were seat fillers until Michigan caliber recruits could be secured.Your guess is as good as mine. I don't have time to dig through the archives for it, but I'm 99% sure there was a discussion around this kid not making it into the class and being dropped for higher rated recruits.
Are you sure that wasn't a Penn State visit? The answer was 'No, we just want to continue to feel each other out.'
Then why did Harbaugh offer him in the first place?
