Jim Groce of Ohio.

Hmm, he knows how to beat the Wolverines...

Each team is different and the talent continues to upgrade.

It's one thing to have JB figured out on the floor, and it's another thing to out recruit him. This incoming class is going to be special and I don't care where Groce coaches, he won't keep up with the recruiting.
:slappy: One recruiting class and they're too cool for school (in a conference with many squads that frequently sign similar classes, and do so more than once every 10 years)

How stacked is this recruiting class that will put them out of reach?

1 5-star center & the #7 & #17 SF, whose second best offers were Colorado & Wake Forest respectively. Clearly that is greatness that can never be matched.

personally I think it's a great hire for them. Then again I've been wrong about coaching hires before.

I don't get the head banging, he is a bad fit for Illinois. They need someone that knows the state well and there are a ton of teams that have beaten Michigan recently.

Yeah, they still mad.

Ped Staters have rocketed to the top of my "hate list" over the past few months because, well, they're subhuman monsters for the most part. I find them to mostly be disgusting human beings so seperated from reality, and so lacking persepective, that I cannot imagine another fanbase approaching them.

That said, remove them from the equation and nobody comes close to scUM. Their sense of self entitlement, and self importance, despite being largely irrelevant on the national scene of both major sports for well over a decade is just astounding.

They manage ONE good recruiting class, back into a shared conference title, are bounced from the tournament by a MAC team, and they're suddenly unstoppable. :slappy:

Couple different reports have circulated saying Burke is going pro. His dad has debunked it so far saying he's still enrolled at UM. If he leaves, UM is left with a walkon as their starting point guard next season.

I don't see where some of these kids get their advise from. No way he's anything right now other than an early second round pick. Play another year and you're possibly a lottery pick. Jump now, and he'll be playing along side Darius Morris in the D-league.

Oh well. Guess we'll be back to middle of the pack bball again.

mike, how strong is this year's point guard class?

and, yes, i already know the (correct) answer.

Like I said, we would be left with a walkon PG on the roster, and no incoming PG's at the moment. So basically, we're fudged.

I don't follow bball recruiting. Naybe there's a noncommitted all world PG out there that UM just became an option? *sigh* dare to dream

He's talking about the NBA, I believe.

5'11 point guards do not become lottery picks unless they have otherworldly skills. That coupled with a weak PG class in this year's draft means his value is likely about as high as it's going to get.

oh, I honestly don't know. I suppose that could be a factor. If their aren't any other solid PG going pro, he could slip into the first round. But still, he'd be better served to stay.

Maybe it's a conspiracy. Maybe Sullinger called him and convinced him to go pro.....

It is very weak. He has good shot at going in the latter part of the 1st round. As for improving his draft stock, unless the kinesiology department has figured out how to add 2-3" to him, or he suddenly morphs into Allen Iverson, it isn't getting much higher.

yep. burke is probably the fourth true point guard on the board. i doubt that he'll ever get a better opportunity. maybe he would be the third point guard taken next year. maybe. that's pretty much his ceiling.
