Wiscy was up big and TTUN was pressing with 15 seconds left, and fouled Wiscy, who just wanted to run the clock out. After that Gard called a timeout, which pissed Howard off. The game ended with Wiscy winning by 14 shortly after that, and then Gard and Wiscy lined up at half court to shake hands as the teams pass by each other, but Juwan stayed back. Then he tried to walk past Gard without shaking his hand. They both said something, Gard tried to shake his hand and then Juwan was pointing his finger in Gard’s face. A ref got between them and then players and coaches from both sides started yelling and shoving each other. Juwan was pushed back, but reached over and smacked Joe Krabbenhoft (Wiscy assistant) on the top and side of his head and backed away. Then it turned into a brawl for a little bit.Howard took a swing at a UW staffer in the postgame handshake line
100%. These kids need to be punished, too.Suspending him the rest of the season should be the minimum punishment...suspend him a whole calendar year..this is the 2nd time in less than a year he's gotten into it with an opposing coach...give every player that threw a punch a remainder of season suspension.
But Kevin Warren will give him the absolute bare minimum punishment possible, assuming the university doesn't do anything.
Wow! How proud of the Fab 5 legacy are you now, TSUN? There overall act with Webber and now Howard has to be wearing thin…..The leaders and best...
A lot of guys deserve some punishment. I am not sure that Gard deserves much, he was trying to explain the timeout to Howard and Howard immediately escalated it by jabbing his finger in Gard's chest. I don't know what Krabbenhoft said but hard to believe it was anywhere in the same realm as Howard's reaction to it. Thing is that Howard has a history here. He got off pretty light after threatening to kill Turgeon. Now he has demonstrated actual violence and set a wretched example for his players, who didn't really start throwing punches until they saw their pathetic coach do it.
I hate to be this guy, especially when it comes to TTUN, but their players didn’t start throwing punches until #0 on Wisconsin started punching.
Just to clarify my stance, Howard was 100% wrong and deserves whatever punishment is handed to him. But a lot of this was escalated by Wisconsin. You can explain why you called a timeout without putting your hands on me.
