While I guess I still appreciate scUM being scUM, my level of respect for those fuckers has decreased dramatically over the last few years.

Any coach that uses that stupid "Ohio" thing to try to ridicule Ohio State and then gets his ass kicked by the actual Ohio never deserves an ounce of respect, and neither does his team. Especially since he continues to do it.

Because they're not Duke, Notre Dame, Alabama, USC, Syracuse...

neither are IU or Purdue but I never hear anyone say we are supposed to give them some kind of begrudging respect.

The scUM fan base is 90% comprised of people who think they are superior to you in every conceivable way, whether they act that way to your face or not. The other 10% are fuckheads like Mike who do it to get attention/just be an annoying dick. Neither category is one I personally find admirable.

Well I do hear that Ann Arbor is a whore...

Your're better off going to Thailand for the same high expectations and disappointing end results. Not that I know from experience, but most whores tend to be fake at the end. Plus they are quite pungent. They smell like michigan men.

I think there was a certain level of mutual respect when Schembechler was around for obvious reasons- purely from a coaching staff perspective. I have no idea what the fan base was like back then.

Bo's 'Michigan Man' was taught the same things Woody was teaching at Ohio State with treachery tossed in. That treachery has slowly eaten away at the 'Michigan Man' to the point that it is more about being a whiney little bitch with a small dick syndrome aimed at Ohio State and a superiority complex based on nothing rather than actually standing for something or being something to be proud of on your own.

Ironically, the further away they have gotten from their direct connection to Woody, the more pathetic the 'Michigan Man' has grown. The death of Schembechler and the hiring of Rich Rod severed the connection entirely and now they are stuck with a fat piece of shit like Hoke who thinks the pinnacle of 'Michigan Man' is being an annoying jackass and recruiting 'stick it to Ohio State by playing for me because those big meanies aren't recruiting you hard enough' players.

The entire team reflects Hoke's obnoxious bullshit he learned growing up a Michigan fan in Ohio for no reason. It's a disgusting bastardized version of Ohio based dominance that Tressel had so much success with (yet annother thing they derive from trying to be like Ohio State rather than having anything original and home grown to hang their hats on).

Granted, they will win plenty of games doing this- they always have. However, they will never be successful on the biggest stage under Hoke, because he is so far removed from Woody that they are stuck with their mutated approximations of being a champion. They remember how to talk the talk but they have never walked the walk- even during their "purest" rendition of copying us in the early days of Schembechler.

It's pretty hilarious to look back on Lloyd Carr like he was the pinnacle of a class act that we respected. Based on how far they've fallen under Hoke- he pretty much is at this point.

Perhaps they tried following Woody and made the mistake of choosing a snapping turtle?

Well said. This is a must-read for those on BP who love to claim there's mutual respect between OSU and TSUN. I've got news for you guys--the average TSUN fan certainly does not respect OSU.

I think I should clarify what I meant. I have a small level of respect for every team in the Big Ten. That level varies mightily between teams.

There are some teams for whom I have no respect and I loathe. Notre Dame, Clemson, Florida State, the SEC as a whole, Miami, and USC will never get my support, even if they are facing scUM.

scUM and Ped State are not worthy of any respect whatsoever.
