TSUN +11.5 vs Duke (ov/un 136.5), Sun 2:45, CBS

Head of officials explaining the the UNC-Wash. ending at halftime. Rick Pitino is not wasting the opportunity to kiss some ass on national TV.

BTW, I'm satisfied with the explanation of the clock ruling (it stops when the ref signals, not when the ball hits the floor - some lag is to be expected). I'm not satisfied with the idea that the refs thought so highly of themselves in that situation to not double check at the coach's request - a request that he is within his rights to make in that situation.

If scUM can keep hitting those threes, and dook can't sort themselves out at the FT line, they might have a chance here. Obviously, in the end, the officiating will probably be too much to overcome, but they have a punchers chance as dook hasn't been taking advantages of the gifts they are receiving thus far.

Michigan has played well against top teams over the last few years but I just can't see them sticking around this whole game. They are getting killed on the boards and Duke is shooting 59 percent. If the three stops falling at any point Michigan, Duke will pull away.

But they've done it in the past, so..... I guess they could easily do the same this time around.

Was Washington out of timeouts when the ball went out of bounds with 1.2 (or 0.5) seconds left? 'Nova got a free timeout when they should have had to run an inbounds play with about 9 seconds left on Friday, since the refs checked and added a few tenths. And, IIRC, I don't think they ignored the delay in blowing the whistle when they put the time back on the clock.

I'm wondering if not wanting to give U-Dub a free timeout in the last second was a factor.

I believe Washington had actually used a timeout in that situation.
