Truth Question?

So I was recently asked if I knew someone that has said they were a quarterback at Ohio State..... supposedly. They said the guys name is "Jay" and he played at tOSU from 84-87... originally he went to Illinois, but then transfered to the Buckeyes. I'm not sure how much playing time he claims. When the question was asked to me, they said starting quarterback...but then backed off. Anyone have an idea if this is legit, or a bogus claim? I was thinking this was Mike Tomzack era, so maybe a back up.

That was my era and the only QB's I recall were Tomczak, Karsatos and Tupa.

Looking at the All-Time Numbers list on the official website, it could be a couple people.

If I had to guess, it would be Canestraro.

I knew quite a few guys on the team at that time, I would agree that he would be the most likely candidate, that being said I have never heard that name before. He had to have been a walk on. Cargile was a LB/DE and Jamie Holland a WR.
