Re: Most of the fans already had left the stadium. Quarterback Jarrett Lee had been booed and benched in the first half. But somehow, LSU found a way to follow one of its most disheartening losses with the biggest comeback in school history.

Troy sure managed to "snatch defeat out of the jaws of vistory." However, apparently not too many LSU fans stayed around to see it.

There may have been 20,000 left in the stands at the end 5k-10k of which were Troy fans.

Yep! 250,000 people have been to each of the memorable monets in Stadium History.

We stayed until then end though. I took a friend of mine to his 1st ever game. Said he didn't know when/if he'll get the chance to ever go again, so he didn't want to leave.

Glad I listened to him.



Something is seriously wrong with this team.
22 years of going to games, that is the absolute WORST i have ever seen them play. ZERO emotion from the players, coaches, or fans.
WTF happened to these guys late in the 3rd? They looked like a completely different team. Suddenly playing with fire in their eyes (where the fuck has that been all year), and Lee turned into Joe Montana for a quarter (where the fuck has THAT been all year).

Was exciting as hell, but if we start the Ole PIss game like we did this one, there will be no comeback, only an ass kicking.
Luckily it was only a sunbelt team last night.

If Troy had a 31-3 lead in the third quarter of this game, they should have been able to win by doing nothing more than killing the clock by running the ball right up the middle and milking the 40-second clock for three downs every time they had the ball. I think I could've coached that team to victory, given the lead and the stage of the game. What in the world was Troy's coach doing?

Yeah, they hammered him in the postgame press conference.

He handled it well though. Said something to the effect of "we won't build a 4 TD lead running one offense, then suddenly switch to the wishbone. We're going to run our offense."

Still a poor coaching move IMO. Especially once momentum shifted. He could have even taken a knee 3 times just to keep the ball out of our hands.

You could feel it in the stands.

The student section started flapping their wings like from that "Angels in the Outfield" movie for every play in the 4th quarter.

Suddenly NOTHING went right for Troy, and everything went right for us.

That's unbelievable. Does that guy not know that it the job of the coach to make in-game adjustments to lead his team to victory? With that kind of coaching philosophy, he shouldn't be coaching a junior high football team.

In a way, I understand his train of thought.
3 yards and a cloud isn't what built that lead. He wanted to stick to what was working. Only it wasn't working anymore.

Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. He figures LSU is going to come on strong at some point and doesn't want to sit back and let it happen, but by trying to extend the lead, he gives LSU even more opportunity to make the comeback.

What a strange game.
