Trivia question: which quarterback holds the NFL record

"Hot dog, we have a weiner"

I tried to get confirmation of this, but it's hard b/c Ditka was basically playing musical chairs at QB at the time and McMahan was in and out of the lineup. In addition, his stats for those years are really, really bad. No doubt some games where he played but didn't start are mixed in. but here it is:

Roethlisberger broke the NFL rookie record (since the 1970 league merger) for consecutive wins to start a career with seven, surpassing Mike Kruczek's 6-0 record as a starter with the 1976 Steelers. Now he can set his sights on another former Steelers quarterback and his 10-0 start.

Mike Tomczak didn't do it as a rookie and he did not do it as a Steelers quarterback, but his Chicago Bears teams won the first 10 games he started in the NFL, starting in 1986, his second season in the league. The only other quarterback with such a quick start was Daunte Culpepper, who won his first seven games as a starter with the Minnesota Vikings in 2000, the year after they drafted him.

My reading of that is the 10 game streak started in '86 and continued into '87...

Perhaps he started/won the first 3 games in '87?

Just a thought.

it was obvious the way the Pittsburgh paper quoted the statistic that Tomczak's record was over 2 seasons (as it says it STARTED in 1986). Like I said, I tried looking it up and during those years McMahon, Flutie, Tomczak, and maybe Harbaugh got starts. Of course, I didn't expect a dullard like Dihard to understand.
