People who have gone, did Tressel pose for photos with people? I met the Ironman a few months at a similar thing in Chicago, he was signing books and every 15-20 he'd get up and pose for photos with people. Also, does anyone know if Tressel has any plans to go to the Chicago area?

The statement was made that he wouldn't stop signing for photos. The way that it ended up, at the BN on campus, was that the table was on risers. So your head was pretty much level with his. Someone from BN volunteered to get a photo (if you had a camera) as you stood "next" to him at the table. JT would look up and smile. Some people got a great shot, others just got him signing, just depending on how quick you were with the photo.

I didn't see him get out of his seat or even put the marker down, but I was only there for about 30 min.

Tressel Drawing Large Crowds at Book Signings
By John Porentas

OSU Head Coach Jim Tressel book signing tour is in progress and the coach is drawing big crowds wherever he goes.

Tressel's first signing took place on Tuesday at a bookstore called Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey, a place you would not really expect to be a hotbed of Buckeye fervor, but according to Tyndale Press public relations representative Todd Starowitz the crowds were impressive in New Jersey.

"We really didn't know what to expect," said Starowitz. "We arrived at the bookstore and there were about 500 people there. The store in New Jersey has a lot of big signings and they were absolutely blown away by the signing yesterday," Starowitz said.

The store in New Jersey had ordered 500 books for the signing and sold them all the day Tressel was there. Tressel's first signing event in Columbus took place at the Kroger store at Northwest Boulevard and Chambers not far from the OSU campus. As you might expect, the crowd was impressive.
Fans lined up outside the store hours before the 11:00 AM start of the signing. The line went the entire length of the north side of the store, wrapped around the east end and then extended out into the parking lot.

Cont'd ...

Fans were limited to signatures in three books. No other merchandise could be signed. Most in line had the maximum number

OSU football coach Jim Tressel signs books, jokes with Michigan fans
By JASON LLOYD, Morning Journal Staff
07/18/2008

IN a room drenched in scarlet and gray, chants of O-H-I-O ringed around John McKay last night.

Sweater vests, No. 33 jerseys and buckeye beads flooded Borders in Westlake.

Then there was McKay. Wearing a Michigan hat and t-shirt, he looked like a steak lover at a PETA convention.

''I'm not here to taunt,'' he said. ''I just enjoy the looks.''

On this night, there were plenty.

Jim Tressel was in town for a book signing on the same day McKay was flying up to see his girlfriend, Megan Kovach. He made sure to pack his Michigan clothes.

McKay is born and raised in Georgia, an alumnus of the University of Georgia, yet his true love lies in Ann Arbor. He went to Michigan Stadium for the Wolverines' 28-0 win over the Buckeyes in 1993. It was love at first sight.

''I was hooked,'' he said.

Oh, thanks so much for not taunting us. It's so hard to imagine the horror of being taunted by a scUM fan.

Unless of course we imagine a steak going to a steak lover convention to taunt.
