I recently saw some great deals for Alaska cruises in late August. Cruise specialists are a good way to go.

It is very important to check out a travel company. Ask for references from the last trip they did. Check the internet for complaints against them. Most travel agencies are good but their margins are under pressure because of airlines, hotels, and rental car companies are doing so much of their business directly now, instead of through intermediaries.

Most travel agencies are good but when they get it bad, they can ruin a trip that you saved for for a lifetime.
