Transferring data files to a new computer

If you have an iPod, you can use that to transfer music, pics, videos, etc...

There's a program called Senuti (iTunes backwards) that turns your iPod into a giant flash drive. This program is for Macs, but they have similar programs that serve the same purpose for Windows.

There's no need for using any program. In itunes it's as simple as clicking on the enable hard disk usage checkbox. From there it's just dragging and dropping(copy/paste) the files from your hard drive to the ipod. Then plugging the ipod into the other computer and moving the files from the ipod to the new computer.

Why not just buy an external hard drive mounting kit/case, take the old HD out of the desktop and make it into the new external HD and transfer files as needed?

Am I missing something here?

FWIW it'll probably be faster if you plug the new machine into the router as well.

I managed to get the laptop onto the wireless network and create the shared folder. Even without plugging in, it only took about 5 minutes to move my 2.1 GB of files over.
