Trail Blazers 06-07 Thread

BigBuckeyeFan#1

Anybody wanna' waste some time?
Thought I'd start a thread on my favorite team. After 6 games, the Blazers have alternated wins and losses. I didn't get to see tonight's game vs. NO/Oklahoma City Hornets but I followed it on espn.com. After being down 38-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Blazers made a huge rally and led 91-90 with 7 seconds left in the game. The Hornets made a 3 to make it 93-91 with 5 seconds left. Zach Randolph went to the foul line with 2 seconds left. He made the first free throw but missed the second!!!! That was his first miss of the night. He was 15-15 before the miss. Talk about a heartbreaker. Brandon Roy only played 6 minutes but hopefully will play the Dallas game on Sunday.

This is a brand new Portland team. They don't quit when they're down like last year. Unfortunately, Darius Miles is still on the team but he won't be playing much if at all. I think we have a shot at 40 or more wins this year which would be a huge improvement over last year.

A tough loss for us tonight. Once again, we were in a big hole in the 1st quarter(20-4 at one point) but we slowly chipped away and went into halftime down only 41-44. We started fast in the 3rd and actually had a 2 point lead but Dallas answered and led by 13 early in the 4th. We cut the score down to 84-85 but Dallas was clutch and finished us off 103-96.

On the bright side, Lamarcus Aldridge made his debut and had a big impact despite little playing time. He finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds including 6 offensive rebounds, in only 20 minutes of playing time. He looked like a younger Rasheed Wallace out there.

On the down side, Brandon Roy missed the game again and won't play for a while. He's our best defender and just a great overall player. When we get healthy this is a playoff caliber team.

Next up is at Minnesota, I believe. Go Blazers!

We lost again, 101-89. We got off to a horrendous start(30-11 at the end of the first) and were down by as many as 26 in the 2nd half. We did cut it down to 9 in the 4th but couldn't capitalize. We play tomorrow at Cleveland.

Martrell Webster doing anything for the Blazers?

A little. He's sparked a few comebacks with clutch 3's. He's still pretty raw though.

I got to see Sergio Rodriguez for the first time and man did he make an impact. He had 8 assists in the 4th quarter alone(should've had 10+ but players missed easy shots) and really gave the team some energy. I like his style more than Jarett Jack. He drives through the lane, drawing players to him, and then dishes it out to the open man. He's extremely quick and has good handles. Dan Dickau just doesn't make much of an impact and Jarett Jack makes too many mistakes(turnovers and stupid fouls).

We're getting raped by Boston right now. 104-78. It was actually a competitive game unti the 4th quarter. Fuck Boston(sorry, OSUsushichic). :mad2:

Edit-Game over.

Boston: 118
Portland: 90

God, I hate Boston.

Just a little update on a couple injured players, Roy is still in a boot and is hoping to get it off in about 2-3 weeks and Lafrentz is ready to come back in about a week. The training staff is hoping Roy's foot heals on it's own and doesn't need surgery. We NEED Roy back. He is so good at everything. I know once we get Roy, Lafrentz, and Pryzbilla back we'll be a good team. I just need to have a little patience.

BTW, Randolph already has 8 double-doubles this year and only had 21 all of last year. He's averaging 25 and 10 a game.
