Jets kicker Mike Nugent missed two more field goal attempts, one from 40 yards and the other from 48 on Sunday against the Buccaneers. "I've never missed two in the same game in my whole career, even in high school," Nugent told the New York Times. "On the first one I didn't play the wind very well and on the second one I tried to kill it." Nugent has hit only 4-of-7 field goal attempts this season.

I have faith he will come through with his upcoming attempts :)

sorry to hear that. I think he'll get better, but he is kicking a totally different ball than college. I would think the best clutch kicker ever could over come that.

It took him a year to get used to kicking in college. Does anyone know how his KO's are doing?
Good point. Let's hope taht trend continues. Not many TBs, but pretty solid return average. He is the 7th lowest KRetAvg among kickers with 10 or more kickoffs.

kicking in hs and college is a whole lot different then in the pros, i read an article after he was drafted and it said hs and college kickers like "cherry" balls, or balls that have had the crap beat out of them, he got to use his "favorite" ball in college and hs, however in the pros he must use a brand new ball and it said the balls are marked with a big K on them as a kicking ball, they use brand new balls fresh out of the box every NFL game and the ball is alot harder to kick because it is not "soft" and it doesn't absorb the kick like old balls do, new balls are hard and don't really give alot

I love Nuge, but reluctantly had to let him go from my fantasy football team. He just wasn't producing, largely due to the fact that his team's offense in general isn't producing. You don't get any kicker fantasy points for kickoffs. Sorry Nuge. I'll take another look at you next year.
