Tough Day for Big Ten top ten

I still have faith that we can make the NC game. I dont think our linebackers allow our team to lose another game all year. There the leaders of the team and i know that tressel will start to pull some plays out of his ass to make sure we beat iowa and michigan... and i cant wait till we go into the shit house and beat those fuckers by 20. Nov 19 cant come sooner enough

Let's just hope Purdue and/or Michigan State in the next couple of weeks can end the media's orgasm over ND's wins.

Amen. I think you're going to see the Irish in the top 10 this week based on the reasoning that they have defeated two conference champs from last year and did it on the road. It's hard to deny them and harder to live with them when things are going this way.

You are probably correct. Though, I wouldn't take much pride in beating a conference champ from last year that got beat by Ohio U and whose coach is Dave Wansted (what was Pitt thinking!).

I can't see ND being better than 8-4 this year.

Just because ND is 2-0 does not mean all us think we are a top 10 team!
Personally I think ND is MAYBE top 15! MAYBE !!! I still have my concerns, actually alot of them.

BTW - OSU played one heck of a game last night and you guys have no reason to think that OSU can't win the rest of your games. OSU proved (at least to me) that you are among the nations elite. Maybe the best trio of linebackers I have ever seem on one team.

Michigan was outcoached, Iowa was flat-out outplayed, and OSU just didn't finish with at least two opportunities to put the game away. Welcome to college football parity 2005 ... where any team can beat any other team on any given Saturday.

The Big-10 took its lumps today, no question about that, but I don't doubt that Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio State are still three of the Top-15 teams in the country. Any differing opinion I think is just blind homer bias.

The top quote about football parity 2005 was dead on. There is a lot of it with the teams between 5-50. Any team can struggle on a given saturday. It is just how often do you stuggle and how you overcome it.

I said about a thousand times in the offseason that Iowa was horribly overrated. The fact that my claim was substantiated so early in the season proves what a fluke they actually are. I don't care if it was a rivalry game--they were absolutely smoked by a very ordinary Iowa State team.

Iowa's QB was knocked out in the second quarter. There are a lot of teams that will lose with their backup QB. I think Iowa was overrated, but they aren't as bad as they were Saturday when they have Tate. Their D, on the other hand, looked a lot worse than advertised, but as a team, they're still pretty good.

EDIT: I don't think they lose all 4 of those...probably 2, maybe 3 of them.

Maybe so, but he wouldn't go 4/18 like the backup did. He may not be an elite QB, but the unit as a whole is much better with him in there (witness the game last year).

No argument with that point. My point is that Iowa's not that good and they probably still wouldn't have won even with Tate in the game. And they could lose several more games this year (I'm talking more than 1 or 2).
