Game Thread tOSU vs Northwestern at Wrigley, Sat. Nov 16, 12pm ET, BTN

Soldier field not sure why they didn't play there but Ohio stgate probably asked them to move it from their temo stadium since it;s so tiny
Yeah, and there's other options.
Is there no high school stadium in Chicago with more capacity? How about just outside Chicago?
Soldier Field?
Where do the White Sox play? Do they still play at Commiskey Park, or whatever? Is there a way to fit a football field in there?
Milwaukee is only an hour away, right? Is there a stadium there they could have played in?

I'm not opposed to playing in Wrigley Field. I just hope they have some plan. And maybe that plan is always play right to left (or left to right). Maybe they cut the field to 90 yards long. That'd be weird, but whatever. Maybe the plan is to coat the field with sticky tar so they can't run as fast. The plan shouldn't be, "I hope nobody runs a fade route, or a corner route, or whatever, into this part of the stadium."

I'm pretty sure the plan is only to play in one direction but yeah could have nbeen better thought out than that

Anybody else going to the game?

11 AM local start - any good bars nearby that will be open to have a few before kickoff?
A guy we met at the Akron game said he was buying out one of the bars right around the corner from the stadium (field?). I dunno if it was a VIP invite only kinda thing.....but there will be at least one bar for OSU fans.

Ohio State opens as 31.5-point favorites over Northwestern

The Buckeyes will look to hit some home runs at Wrigley Field.

Betting Odds: Ohio State -31.5 | O/U 43.5 (per FanDuel Sportsbook)

Ohio State sits at 8-1 on the year, with its lone blemish a one-point loss on the road to the now-No. 1 team in the country. The Buckeyes’ biggest shortcomings in that game were on defense, and it seems as though there have been actual tangible changes made to correct it. Since losing to the Ducks, Ohio State has allowed just one offensive touchdown total over a span of three games, and the pass rush that has consistently let them down in big games has seemingly been overhauled and adapted.

Since losing to the Ducks, Ohio State has allowed just one offensive touchdown total over a span of three games

Just sayin': (Against Corn, Ped State & Purdue) Now that is impressive, the one offensive TD was against Corn in the 4th quarter.

I'm not, but that should be a great experience. I get the complaints on capacity for fans trying to get tickets and perhaps field conditions, but after the last shit show of weather in Evanston last time (not saying Wrigley improves that) and them purposefully keeping the grass high to slow guys down, this might be better for the team. And those who can attend, cool venue for the fans to take in.

Enjoy it all and Go Bucks! Chicago is a great time if you stay off the wrong blocks.

I'm surprised the NCAA allowed it and Ohio State approved it.
Unless they've figured out a way to fix it?
Where do the Bears play? Why didn't they choose to play there? I don't know Chicago at all... maybe Wrigley Field is right next to Northwestern, and Soldier Field (do the Bears still play there?) is somewhere else.
I know a while ago they played a game there - a bowl game, maybe? And they made both teams go the same direction all game long. That was a last-minute decision. It can't be a last-minute decision, anymore. Unless they changed the stadium or the configuration in some way, this seems like a bad idea.
Wrigley is closer to Northwestern, but yeah, why not Soldier Field which is centralized. New Comiskey AKA Guaranteed Rate has hosted football. Also very tight, but at least the walls are padded in the endzone:

Yay, we get another noon kick! Soak it up guys, we only get two more after this.
I loved noon games when I was on ET. Not so much when its a 10am MT start and I wanna sleep in a little before cracking some crispy boys and watch a little of the pregame shows. But I wake up at 6am to golf, ski and fish on the weekends, so I will survive haha.
