Game Thread tOSU vs. Northern Illinois, Sat 9/19 @ 3:30pm ET, ABC/ESPN2

We had a loss by this point last year, and looked much worse on the way to it. All that matters right now are the wins. We may not beat the spread (looks like I'm going to get some bookie charity, I think it's 500?) but I still have us winning by three scores. Lesser teams can play their asses off for a couple quarters, but they don't often sustain. We've done everything possible to implode for a half of football and it's tied. Zero worries.

My worry is it's not just not executing. They were sloppy yes but the play calling is atrocious also. I can live with the kids failing to show up. But the latter worries me for later in the season

Buckeyes seem to have two problems.

First, their attitudes. Coaches need to get their heads right. The press has made everyone's expectations too high. Cardale was not Joe Namath after three games and he wasn't ready for the NFL. Buckeyes need to play like they are the #100 team aspiring to be #1. They (and their fans) need to realize that they don't have to be perfect all of the time--other teams also will have their moments--but they need to play to their potential as a team.

Second, the offensive coaches need to give themselves a good talking to. The offense needs to be coordinated much better. Play calling needs to show more "wow"", taking advantage of the players' skills. You have one of the best running backs in college football. Get a passing game going and run this thing down their throats.

The rain has made it to the Youngstown area and the Bucks are tied at halftime. Looks like the Goose is coming out early tonight.

Everybody, grab a beer, down it, grab another, chill and enjoy the second half. NIU is not scoring again. We gave them 10 the D will come though. We have to get tougher in the trenches(o-line). Would love to be in the locker though to hear what the coaches have to say.

Come January you will be wishing to watch some Buckeye football, here it is ENJOY!

Just so.

Play action on first down and hit the receivers. On second and third is when we feed the beast. Opposite of what everyone is thinking right now. Thats the only adjustments that need made. Game over.
