tOSU Student housing questions

MattJ

Rookie
Hey all, just a few questions about where the best places to live are. I recently got accepted into tOSU and have never been to Columbus. I'm going to be a junior and will be taking an official visit in June. So with that said where is the best place for me to live? I was looking at the dorms on osu.edu and they seem very small. One thing that is a MUST for me is that I need enough space for my computer and TV (love to game) haha but since the dorms are so small is off campus housing my best option? What are the best area's to live around campus? One thing I thought about living off campus is it might be tougher to meet ppl since I've never been there before, but then again being involved with intramurals and playing ball at the RPAC might solve that...

any feedback is appreciated thanks!

the closer you live to campus the more competitive it is to buy a place (I used to sign leases in February for the next fall) and the more expensive it is (400-500$ a month per person or more)

the further away you get from campus the cheaper it is and the better chance you have of finding a nice place for a decent price

also, a 10x10 dorm room isn't big enough for a TV and a computer? the rooms in campus housing aren't going to be that much bigger unless you are living by yourself and counting the living room

there's 2 places on Lane you can look at, Riverwatch and Harrison...I lived at Riverwatch for a year, it's not bad, not the greatest, but not bad, pretty good location (right across the street from St Johns, and right next to the schott)

If you're going to live in the dorms. I'd recommend Morrill Tower. It's large suites with 10 people in them, divided into 4 rooms. If you're in one of the three two person room in the suite then you'll have a ton of room. In addition to the individual rooms there's also a living room area that is pretty big.

As for off campus, well, it's pretty much already been covered.
