2021 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I just don’t see Ohio State taking 4 DT’s . Could be wrong. I have always had 3 in this class, though. But if they do take 4, I’d think Bradley over Payne.
Yes, to elaborate on my post above a bit, I don’t get the impression that Ohio State is even actively recruiting Payne as a priority right now beyond the standard staying in contact.

Tunmise Adeleye also feels like a personality destined for the SEC, in my opinion. I would be happy to be wrong on that, but the ups and downs of his recruitment and his propensity for playing the recruiting game doesn’t feel like a match for Ohio State to me.

I have decided that think that social isolation might be okay, after all.

Put another way - the 9th ranked recruiter in the country is Al Washington.

The 5th ranked recruiter on OSUs staff is ..... Al Washington.

Question: someone on the goblow site mentioned a receiver/DB named Dione Colzie - any relation to Flam of OSU fame?
There are two Corneliuses in play here - Flam was QB Corny Greene.

His teammate in '73 and '74 was defensive back Cornelius, better known as Neal, Colzie.

I don't think Deion can be Neal's son, since Neal passed away in 2001. Not sure if there's any other relation there.

As for the realistic players that the Buckeyes will sign off of that list provided? Out of those nine players, I believe they will land at least four of them. Here's my order for the guys I'm most confident end up signing their NLI to join the class:
  1. TreVeyon Henderson
  2. JC Latham (If not for the heavy smoke of late around Henderson's recruitment, I would probably have Latham in the top spot.)
  3. Emeka Egbuka*
  4. Troy Stellato*
  5. J.T. Tuimoloau
  6. Derrick Davis Jr.
  7. Tunmise Adeleye
  8. Donovan Edwards
  9. Tony Grimes
*I would put Egbuka and Stellato as 5a and 5b, respectively.

What would your *ideal* finish look like? This isn’t who you think they’ll finish with, but it needs to be prospects they’re actually involved with. Assume that Henderson is in, putting them at 15. They’re going to 25, so you have 10 spots to play with.

1. Egbuka
2. Stellato
3. Latham
4. Burton
5. Robinson
6. Tuimoloau
7. Malone
8. Carter (I want to put Lewis here, but without an offer, I can’t really justify it)
9. Grimes
10. Davis

This 25-man class would have an overall rating on 247 Composite of 325.58 with an average per recruit of .9534

Of the uncommitted prospects, Henderson should be committing to Ohio State this evening.

Wilcoxson, Tuimoloau, Egbuka, Latham, and Burton are all trending toward the Buckeyes.

Stellato is trending away from the Buckeyes (toward Clemson).

Adeleye and Davis are tough to read at this point - there are good arguments both for and against Ohio State.

Bradley might not be a "take" right now, might be a plan B if Adeleye goes elsewhere.

Dunn might not be a "take" right now, might be a plan B if Wilcoxson goes elsewhere.

This class needs another linebacker (maybe Dunn could be that guy). Barrett Carter would be high on the wish list, but he's probably all Georgia right now.

EDIT: In the two hours since I posted this, Maryland picked up two CBs for Marcus Bradley, and Steve Wiltfong flipped his CB from Ohio State to cloudy. Looks like he's not going to be a Buckeye. Maybe time to add Tywone Malone (no CBs at all) to my list....
