Possible 2021 Recruiting Class based on current commitments (bold scarlet) and crystal balls:
The above 22 recruits would have an overall 247 Composite score of 320.16, with an average per recruit of 95.50
Despite the CoronaVirus scare, Ohio State recruiting is rolling along at a record-setting pace.
Some updates (03/16/2020):
In the past two days, defensive backs Jakailin Johnson and Devonta Smith both committed to Ohio State, and Andre Turrentine went from nearly off-the-radar to nearly committed, with six crystal balls all dropping in Ohio State's favor.
In addition, Ohio State is now the 100% crystal ball favorite for running back Evan Pryor (up from 40%), and the 90% favorite for offensive lineman JC Latham (up from 75%).
With the recent flurry of crystal ball activity, look for some more Buckeye commitments in the near future.
In some neutral news, the Buckeyes still have just one crystal ball (20%) for defensive back Derrick Davis, Jr., but the two crystal balls (40%) previously cast for Clemson have suddenly become cloudy.
In some bad news, all the recent crystal balls for wide receiver Troy Stellato have gone for Clemson, and the Buckeyes and the Tigers are now both listed at 50%. In reality, Stellato was probably the fourth option in a three-receiver class, so his "loss" won't be that great if the Buckeyes can secure their top three choices (current commits Marvin Harrison, Jr. and Jayden Ballard, along with superstar Emeka Egbuka). For the time being, I am going to drop Stellato from my list.
EDIT 03/16/2020: Looks like I should've waited a few hours to make my post, as things have already changed fairly dramatically in the Buckeyes' favor. First, 4* RB Evan Pryor made the scryers look like geniuses as he committed to Ohio State. Second, recruiting guru Steve Wiltfong cast a Buckeye crystal ball for 5* RB TreVeyon Henderson.
But all silver clouds have a black lining.... With Pryor in the fold and Henderson trending Ohio State, that leaves 4* RB Donovan Edwards on the outside looking in. But I can think of worse RB problems to have, so I'll live with losing a top-50 recruit if that means both Pryor and Henderson are in this class. (Note: I am leaving Edwards "in" pending further developments with Henderson. And further developments may happen rather quickly, so stay tuned....).
EDIT 03/17/2020: You can add Andre Turrentine to the recent flurry of Buckeye commitments. Turrentine has a 247 Composite rating of 94.13. Too bad he lowers the Buckeyes' average recruit rating to 95.09.
The Dean has cast a Buckeye crystal ball for J.T. Tuimoloau, which increases Ohio State from 33% to 50% (with one of the four CBs reading cloudy).
Bank Greene and Andrew Ellis both cast Buckeye crystal balls for TreVeyon Henderson, bring Ohio State up from 20% to 80%. In related news, Ellis cast a Georgia crystal ball for Donovan Edwards. At this point, I am officially replacing Edwards with Henderson.
