Best Buckeye

Pretending I'm a pleasant person is exhausting.

This coming Sunday the Lady Buckeyes will travel to Auburn to play their first away game of the year.
So far The ladies appear to have rounded into a pretty good team and hopefully that type of play will work for them in this game.
The game is slated for a 3 pm start but isn't listed as televised.

I think this game will be a good indicator of how good we are playing the up-tempo style of play that Foster wants from his team this season. Also if they can beat Auburn, it should give them a lot of confidence for this season.

I agree LitlBuck. With the youth on this team it would do a world of good for the team's confidence.

The Ladies will show Auburn a new look according to a Dispatch article.

Jantel Lavender remembers Auburn.

A year ago, the Tigers presented the Ohio State women's basketball team with its first loss six games into Lavender's freshman season in the championship game of the Buckeye Classic. The defeat in St. John Arena really wasn't as close as the 67-58 final score.
"They were athletic and they pushed the ball," Lavender said. "And they had a signature player in DeWanna Bonner. I just remember us not being a cohesive unit like we needed to be to win that type of a game last year."
The 17th-ranked Buckeyes (3-0) want to leave the 20th-ranked Tigers (3-0) with an unpleasant memory of their own when the teams meet at 3 p.m. today in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. That won't be easy because Bonner, a rare 6-foot-4 guard, returns as the preseason player of the year in the Southeastern Conference with three other starters.

Dispatch Game preview
3 p.m. today

? Where: Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum
? TV: None
? Radio: WOSU-AM (820)
? Records: Ohio State 3-0; Auburn 3-0
? Matchup to watch: In the Buckeye Classic championship game last season, Auburn guards sliced and diced the OSU guards while turning 14 turnovers into 23 points in a 67-58 victory. Sherell Hobbs, DeWanna Bonner and Whitney Boddie are all back for a second shot at the Buckeyes. OSU is starting three different guards, sophomores Alison Jackson and Brittany Johnson and freshman Samantha Prahalis. Will it make a difference, especially with the 6-foot-4 Bonner knifing to the boards?

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

AUBURN, Ala. -- Certain moments last a lifetime, and unfortunately, some memories are less pleasant than others.
Ohio State sophomore center Jantel Lavender already had one reason to remember the Auburn Tigers after they handed the Buckeyes their first loss of the season a year ago in Columbus.
Lavender and her teammates had an excellent chance to repay the 20th-ranked Tigers yesterday in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum, but watched a six-point lead disappear in the final 2:32 of regulation. Once Auburn sent the game into overtime, 17th-ranked Ohio State ran out of gas in an 87-80 loss.
"I never like losing," Lavender said. "And I don't think we should have lost this game. That's what I'm most disappointed about because I know what the possibilities are and how good our team can be. I think we could have won this game."
