The Ohio State basketball team almost blew a game that they couldn't afford to lose against USC, but they were able to pull out the win.
The Ohio State basketball team came into their game on Wednesday night as a desperate basketball team. They had lost four of their previous five games, which put them firmly on the bubble of the NCAA Tournament. Another loss in any of their final three games could take them out of the running for a bid.
Taking on USC, it looked like the Buckeyes were going to be able to get an easy win in the first half. They shot 73% from the field in the first half and held a 14-point lead. Micah Parrish looked like he was going to make every shot he looked at. Of course, things didn't stay easy for this team because they never do. They let USC climb back into it.
The Trojans got the margin as close as a tie game with under a minute left, but the Buckeyes were able to hold them off for an 87-82 victory. It was a game that the Buckeyes absolutely had to have to keep their season alive. Jake Diebler was able to keep his team from fully collapsing. The

The Buckeyes didn't take the lead for good until Devin Royal had an and-one opportunity that he covered with just under 45 seconds left. The Buckeyes were then able to get a steal and make some free throws to seal the deal. They survive another night on the bubble.
Parrish finished with 20 points in the game and had his three-point shot working. He was able to really help the Buckeyes get that big lead in the first half. He cooled off in the second half but so did everyone else on the team. Still, it ended up being enough.
