Then it’s a philosophy from Day during game prep because the same things happen in the 2nd half of close games. Smith, Day, whoever called it was the definition of insanity that half.

Go 4-5 wide and let Sayin rip the field apart, even if we’re up. Make that the philosophy.

“Win the 4th” or “leave no doubt”- which is it Day? Even he doesn’t know.

The thing is, I don't think it's Day per se, it's something in the deep fabric of Ohio itself. Woody, Tressel, Cooper, even Urban, after the first couple of years. Ohio State has almost always had a play not to lose mentality. Even when a coach comes in with aggression, within a few years he becomes a turtle. We're always expecting the hammer to drop and it just seems to infect the program at a fundamental level.

Maybe they should adopt what the Akron Zips do, and let a fan call the plays, beyond the first drive. I’ve got to watch some Hallmark to bring me down so that I can sleep without replaying the unbelievable second half let down.

It's the stupid mentality of Ryan Day. "we're just going to regroup and hope we have a chance in the fourth quarter."

Hey, coach dumbass. How about your mentality is that you're going to bury them in the third quarter?

I doubt that's ever going to be the offense this year. Smith wants to use the tight ends. Day wants to use the tight ends.

Hell Urban would be using the tight ends.

The only one who ever put them consistently in 4 wide was Chip Kelly and he's gone.

DL play is down big time, all we have up front is Jackson. I mean, I guess it's somewhat to be expected with the talent we lost up front from last season but it's down more than it can afford to be to not lose several games this year. Only chance is the young guys like Wilder keep improving and eventually take over. I guess there's a reason we got these portal guys and their respective teams didn't really seem to care.

It wasn't guys you need to stop playing feelings ball here. Here was 3 of the 5 2nd half drives. Only one was run run pass

Day and this entire team are gonna have to get over this quick. With road games against Indy, So Cal and Iowa and home games against Oregon and the Skunkbears this season could get ugly and stay ugly fast.

Let's hope they come together like they did after the close loss on the road against the Ducks in 24'.

Time will tell...
