Hahaha, just remembered Rutgers 2 best CBs are suspended and not playing.Olave, Wilson, JSN against back ups??? FUHHEDFABOWDIT!!
The real Buckeyes finally show up today and roll 45-20.
I didn't realize that, that would change my prediction. Unfortunately I won't see this one live (first time I haven't watched a Buckeyes game live in like 15 years), but will watch it on record tonight. Had a chance to go jet boating in Hells Canyon, kinda can't pass that one up. But I do have my prediction ready to go.
I think this game like many, we get off to a slow start on the road and Rutgers gets the first score. Lets face it, even in our best years that always seems to happen where we get off to a slow start and usually get our shit together. But I do think we pull away considerably in this one with their best DBs out, no way their backups are sticking with Olave, Wilson, JSN, etc. I expect Rutgers to send some exotic blitzes to pressure Stroud and make him get the ball out of his hands quickly. That said, I would think we pound the ball away and Henderson gets his 20-25 touches, with Teague and Meatball getting 5-10 each (which I really like in most games to be honest, it is our strength). On the defensive side, I hope to see some incremental improvement and less substitutions after we have watched enough game film on the guys. More Simon and Chambers, less Eichenberg (especially on third downs). In the secondary, I really hope Ransom takes away the high safety position, I am sorry but Shaw is a major liability back there unless we are playing a team like Iowa, Wisconsin or *ichigan. With Banks all the way back, I like Burke and Banks outside, with Cam Brown at the nickel spot. Hickman needs to be on the field all the time and Martinez has proven he deserves to be on the field some as well.
So with all that, I say we roll 49-24. Go Bucks!
