tOSU at Notre Dame, Sat. 9/23, 7:30pm EST, NBC

Old military tale, in 1914 the French military philosophy was "le offense a' outrace," that going on the defense would lead to defeat. Watching the recruiting during the Myers and Day years led me to think that perhaps the same philosophy had taken root in Columbus.

I understand that it takes time for a new DC to recruit "his" players and for the team to understand and accept his scheme. The defense that gave away huge chunks of yardage to Michigan played pretty damn good against a much better Georgia team and I expected to see that from week 1. Perhaps the number of forced passes, a couple of sacks, a fumble recovery and a pick six are signs that this defense is ready.

I hope they are ready. I mean, if not now, when?

I also fully expect an arm punt bouncing off 3 players and being caught in the helmet guard of someone named Murphy Fitzpatrick, who is a 24 year old walk-on that they somehow have a whole segment on.
It's Murphish McFitzpatski. From Our Lady of Perpetual Responsibility (apologies to Garrison Keillor) just outside Chicago. His grandmother knit sweaters in the Árann Isles and his grandfather was a Kielbasa stuffer from Krakow.

Golden Gloves boxing champion to be specific, but will only be mentioned 90% of the game. Loved how they did that with Zbikowski even when ND was on offense.
It’s important to listen to the announcers. How else would anybody ever find out that Brady Quinn’s sister was engaged to A.J. Hawk? There was even a rumor of a split jersey, but they never showed it on TV.

Pretty sure they did show the split jersey during the sugar/cotton/peach/daffodil/ Bowl. Right after Mr. Hawk had floored pretty boy for a sizable loss. As for Notre Dame announcers, ask Chris Collinsworth what happens to announcers who dare say anything less than complimentary about "Our Ol' Lady."
Did his son get canned?

Yeah I agree with this too. Will coach Day be the one from the Georgia game or the Michigan one?

The Georgia one made everyone feel better because it was close but it was still a loss. No moral victory trophies get displayed in the WHAC (yet at least).

How about we see the '20 Clemson guy. Find a way to win the fucking game. If he wants to make it an ass whipping, that's fine.

The Georgia Day also puckered at the end. Why settle for a 50 yard field goal? We could have and should have gotten closer.
