tOSU at Navy (M&T Bank Stadium), Aug 30th @ 12pm ET, CBS Sports Network

I see a lot of posters saying this game is 50/50 at this point... my question is why? I get it their offense, THAT offense. What about their defense?
I'm one of those people. I don't think they have much of a defense, but at this point, nobody can say for sure what we have at quarterback. Not to mention the OL, though I have confidence Warriner will have them solid, who can say how they'll perform together in the first game? Although we've been hearing positive things about our defense, nobody really knows how it's going to be until after kickoff. Lot of questions with this Buckeye team. Navy has a dangerous offense and is coming off a pretty solid season. I hope we just come out and blow their doors off, and we very well could, but until I see some of these question areas in action, I am nervous about this one.

WOW! WHOA!....take a shot every time you hear that from Verne Lindquist.....you'll be [Mark May] faced by the first commercial break.
Considering they cover the SEC and OSU is the "SEC team of the North," I think you could take a sip of beer everytime they mention "you know what, this is an SEC caliber team here" and wake up in the hospital Sunday morning with an IV in your arm.

- Braxton surgery scheduled for tomorrow with Dr. James Andrews
- JT & Cardale have responded well.
- Biggest positive is there are 6 game ready WRs.
- Depth Chart to be released tomorrow.
- Compares the handling of Christian Bryant's injury to Braxton's. Biggest change is getting younger players ready to play.
- Has heard Keenan Reynolds is the best QB Navy has had.
- LG starter still TBD (Hale, Price, Underwood).
- C starter still TBD (Boren, Lindsay)
- 2nd Corner starter TBD (Apple, Conley). Both will play.
- Good to still have battles on going.
- Couldn't tell starting WRs either right now. Spencer, D Smith, Wilson, Marshall, Thomas & C Smith all deserve playing time.
- "I think we have a good team" when talking about preparing for Navy.
- JT & Cardale still a pretty close battle, but JT is the starter.
- Curtis Grant starting MLB. Going to see rotation in first game @ LB, DL & CB.
- Captains: Braxton Miller, Jeff Heuerman, Michael Bennett, Doran Grant & Curtis Grant.
- Jeff Heuerman not 100% yet, but will be ready to go.
- Nick Vannett is one of most improved, along with Tommy Schutt, Curtis Grant & Doran Grant.
- JT is "Guiton-ish". Had another really good practice today. Very business like approach.
- Hasn't really faced a team like Navy in his head coaching career, but has talked to several colleagues about them. Will make a few adjustments to game management.
- JT has great competitive spirit & talked to a few from the Elite 11 when JT was there.
- Talks about how QB recruiting has changed over the years. So many QBs commit early & you don't have the opportunity to evaluate in person.
- Ezekiel Elliott is full go. Mentions again Rod & Brionte having great camps. Warren Ball has been out with a concussion over the last couple days.
- Curtis, Zeke, Rod, Brionte all involved with kicking game. Can't get carries without being involved in kicking game.
- Starting off on road will be great gauge of maturity of team & how they handle their business.
- Thinks the team is ready. Likes where they are after today's practice & how they responded to Braxton's injury.
- There will be times where Braxton may not be able to travel with team (like this weekend). Will have to make that decision when the time comes throughout the season.
