What's so frustrating is that, for the most part, it is dumb fundamental things that are biting them. The personal foul on Shazier, the offsides penalties, the false start + bad snap. Stop giving away yards to their offense.

Crazy half and that fake punt sucked butt. Need to move the ball more on the ground. Have no answer for the option. D playing decent enough but needs to tighten up on the offsides and stupid penalties. Need to come out the half and put 7 up fast.

This doesn't feel like a close game but yet here we are... cal has shown no ability to contain our run game and other than the lob by goff they've shown almost no ability to go deep.

Run the ball and play them tighter and we'll walk away with this. I'm speechless we didn't go for that last 4th down play they can't stop the run and we gave them the ball back with plenty of time. 2 busted plays and some dumb penalties later and its a ball game. I expected this game to be tough but after seeing how easy we are moving the ball it really sjouldnt be.

The tempo and short quick passes are tough to defend...and credit to the young Cal QB, he looks good.

I think we have the offense to beat anybody. This is our backup QB in there, not our Heisman candidate starter. I also think we have a young, reckless defense that could come back to bite us. The good thing is, I don't think we'll see this type of offense again. They're tailor made to exploit our weaknesses. We'll see if any adjustments are made in the second half, but I expect them to continue to put up a lot of yards. Cal's tempo is ridiculous. Gonna have to hope for "bend, don't break" defense, and execute on offense.
