Consider registering! Fewer and higher quality ads, no emails you don't want, access to all the forums, download game torrents, private messages, polls, Sportsbook, etc. Even if you just want to lurk, there are a lot of good reasons to register!
For the record Thompson was the only freshman I saw play in HS but from what I read I assumed the freshman were ready to contribute right away except for Mc Donald and Williams What Happened? Maybe those proclaiming Scott would start could enlighten me.
I think the main thing is the freshman class from a national perspective is not very strong this year. You have a few great players, but the guys in the middle of the top-100 rankings (like OSU's guys) have not been very productive in general. So evaluating those guys against themselves did not prove to be a very useful tool. In other years where the frosh class was more advanced, guys with the rankings where OSU's frosh were rated would have been much more productive.
I think with Scott he has a big adjustment to make from a mental standpoint. If he were able to get his confidence in his shot and let his natural abilities take over, then he would be playing a lot better. But too many turnovers and lack of confidence and/or understanding how to play has set him back some.
