I think this is going to be the biggest test of the season. Going on the road vs a very good opponent in an extremely hostile environment is a tremendous test for our young guys. I hope Sully is healthy and the rest of the guys are well rested. Go Bucks!

Absolutely. I think the only remaining question about this team is how good they'll be on the road. I see only2-3 Big Ten road games being potential challenges -- Wisconsin, MSU, and maybe Illinois. They don't play at Purdue this year. So I agree that this game is probably the biggest test.

I don't see Illinois as having a prayer against the Buckeyes. However, we seem to struggle against Northwestern and Penn State regardless of how pitiful they are, and Northwestern appears actually to be competent this season. Fortunately we do not play in Happy Valley, but we do play in Evanston on the next-to-last game of the regular season.

Probably not, but they're one of the better teams in the B1G defensively and have some size inside and length outside, so they could keep the score down, which is their only chance. Any team in conference that the Bucks get in to the 70's on, they're going to beat solidly.

Indiana will not be an easy out this year, and the end of the schedule looks pretty tough with four of five on the road. I see plenty of landmines in conference play.

Kansas will be a great test. Very excited about this one!

Kansas coach Self blasts team after win
December, 7, 2011
By Jason King

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Bill Self was furious with his team's performance in Tuesday's 88-80 victory over Long Beach State at Allen Fieldhouse - and he wasn't shy about expressing it outside of the Jayhawks locker room.

"Our offense sucks," Self said. "We are the worst passing team I've ever seen. It's ridiculous to watch."

Self's team committed 22 turnovers against a long, athletic 49ers squad. Sixteen of those turnovers came in the second half, when Long Beach State whittled Kansas' 19-point lead to 4 with 47 seconds remaining. Kansas then closed out the game by making four consecutive free throws.

Still, Self couldn't get over the fact that Long Beach State scored 21 of its final 24 points off of Kansas turnovers. He noted that guards Tyshawn Taylor and Elijah Johnson combined for no assists and 6 turnovers after intermission. Even though the 49ers were doing a good job defensively, it's not as if they were ratcheting up their intensity and giving Kansas "hot pressure," Self said.

"That was about as miserable of a performance in the last 10 minutes of a game as I've ever seen," Self said. "You can look up and down the lineup and there is just nobody that values the ball at all. That was a game we had won several times, but our inability to think, pass, catch or execute at all in late-game situations was the reason the game was close late."

What makes the situation even more distressing is that Kansas is just four days away from hosting No. 2 Ohio State at Allen Fieldhouse. Self said Saturday's game, which tips off at 3:15 ET, could get ugly if the Jayhawks don't make some major strides during the next few days of practice.

"If we handle the ball like that, (Ohio State) can pick the score," Self said. "Let's just call it like it is. They will pick the score in our own building if we handle the ball like that.

"It will be a jailbreak if we turn the ball over against Ohio State. They won't just be running out and scoring two points. They will be making plays that are ESPN top-10 plays."

I really hope they stay sloppy against us. Craft would most certainly make them pay for that.

Pretty good move by Self to fire up his team. He might have been a bit over the top with how much he dogged them but his point is legitimate. Thats still a good win for them, LBS is going to be in the tourney this year.

If Sully is not ready i guess that leaves it up to Ravenel to carry the load.
That would be a real test in my opinion to see how far we could go without
Sully. Kansas will be up for Ohio State and we all know that.

But a victory for us would be huge for us if we won without Sullinger. Our defense will have to play one of thier best games in this one.

if true imo, Kansas will work us over pretty good. Always tough to play there

I don't see this happening. Our guards are too solid. If Kansas beats Ohio State with or without Sullinger it will be one hard earned win. There is a reason one team is #2 and the other isn't in the top 10.

Hope so Bill. Ill NEVER count a Thad Matta coached team out and we def could win without Sully just my gut feel at this time.
