Wow. Nothing like two national broadcast announcers openly rooting for the Illini.

I hate it when announcers "get into the game" with excitement for either team. Seems like favoritism to me.

Bucks down heading into half, maybe its a good thing. The team can see that the #1 rankings isn't bullet proof.

I think they are pretty fair getting excited for both teams....dont think they are one sided at all.

I dont know about the criticism of the announcers. Basketball is an exciting game. I like Gus Johnson's energy. I dont think he plays a favorite other than he loves the Big10, especially since they're signing his paychecks. He's definitely excitable.

Gus "likes" whoever is on a roll at the moment. I wish every college announcer had his enthusiasm.

Yep. Go re-watch the OSU-Xavier tournament game.

I think it's just more noticeable and irritating when you're pissed off because your team isn't playing well.

Man, Big10 basketball is so tough this year. Only the doormats are going to be a breather at all. Starting today we have a stretch of 5 grueling games. I dont see us getting through these unscathed, honestly but its definitely a test and great preparation for the tournaments coming up.

This. If you want a homer broadcast turn on the radio (I do like to listen to Keels and Stokes) or turn into any Duke game on ESPN.

**Jaw drops** Did anyone else just hear what Bruce Pearl said?

EDIT: Ok, maybe I just took his statement the wrong way. I thought he was saying he was the poster child for telling the NCAA the truth because he had told the truth, but I guess he meant he was the poster child because he was evidence of what happens when you don't tell the truth.

I love gus and love it even more when the bucks are winning...

Hopefully somehow stop Illinois' inside game...all their points are coming from 1' from the basket.

Need to get better stopping penetration and then rotating to the dump pass if the ball handler gets into the paint...

Exactly. No one was complaining about Gus when we were opening up an early lead and he was his enthusiastic self. But when Illinois ended the half on a run suddenly he's against us. :wink2:

They've definitely had too many trips to our rim.

It's a bit frustrating to watch Ohio State carry the play for most of the half only to give up two big runs that has kept Illinois in the game.

Ohio State took their best shot and are only down one but carried the play for most the half. Hopefully the 2nd gives us the margin needed.
