tOSU -10.5 at NW'ern (ov/un 142.5) Sat 6 ET, ESPN2

Hard to believe the two highest scoring teams in the Big Ten are both under 30 points at halftime.

It seems apparent NU decided they couldn't run with us and they're going to keep a slow pace tonight. Considering their leading scorer is out, it's hard to argue with the strategy. Its keeping them in the game...so far.

I'm pretty sure its NW's game plan of not doing anything until the last 10 seconds on the shot clock that's killing us, not Matta failing at motivating the team. They guys are clearly frustrated with the slow pace.

Did this jackass analyst at halftime just say "why can't Battle play on a team like Michigan State, that's always in the top 25 rankings?" - uh, dude...last time I checked Michigan State was no where near the Top 25 rankings.

ESPN continues their showing of excellence.

I hate watching it, but totally agree with the Northwestern gameplan.

That too. But he does need to motivate better, we barely beat Iowa, PSU, UM, and now NW.

This is the traditional Princeton gameplan... run the robotic offense until the last 5-6 seconds of the shot clock, and execute the backdoor cut or take the three... drastically reducing the number of plays keeps the executor of the Princeton offense in the game...

I hate ESPN as much as anyone, but MSU is ranked 25th and 26th...but they will drop more once the new rankings come out since they lost to Michigan

This Siva kid from Lville had a straight ballin' effort against Uconn today (based off watching the halftime highlights...)

Siva has underachieved so far in his career. I've be to see them play several times and he is lightning quick, but turns the ball over a lot. Although, he has tons of potential.

But doesn't NU run the Princeton offense all the time? And yet, they're second in the BT in scoring and led it last year.

They're taking it to the extreme tonight. I can't blame them, especially with Shurna out. It's their only hope of staying in the game and its working.

They do run it all the time... it doesn't have to be ran this slowly, but when faced with a team they can't run with, they will execute it like today... it' also a higher scoring offense sometimes because of the three's

You sound like you expect every game to be like the Purdue game. It is unrealistic to expect 19-21 year olds to play at that level every game, no matter how much you "motivate" them.
