Trust me, the locals in the Valley of the Sun will be ecstatic that they can sell that 45K allotment for >$500 each instead of hoping and praying for a profit on a Lions vs. Ducks match-up.

Lions vs. Ducks: Animal Edition would be closer than that Fiesta Bowl would've been.

he could also mean that ND will be given excuses even if they lose... such as "Well... Weis didn't have the talent that he will have later"... or "still a heck of a season from Weis" (despite beating only one decent team all year).

This is the last year they get the full payout. I'm willing to bet they now wish they hadn't accepted the BCS terms earlier this year. In the future, they get about $4.5 million when they make a BCS bowl (same money as a conference gets for their second BCS team). But ND gets over $1 milliion per year even when they don't go to a BCS bowl.

They took the guaranteed money. I'll bet with Charlie they now think they'll get into a BCS bowl more often than once every few years. If so, it looks like they left a lot of future money on the BCS negotiating table. That's a damn shame. :wink2:

Sorry, I missed the $ signs. :biggrin:

But on a more interesting note. I think fans will like the improvement in
Laurinaitis they see in the Bowl game. The practice time with the starting unit has done wonders for his reaction time.
Also Wilson has stepped up at DE and will play more. :biggrin:
