Good plan... merged discussion here and locked the other one.

Was this in Administrative before or did I just move it? Do you all want this here or in Video Clips?
You moved here from football when you combined all the threads Deety. but anyplace is ok as long as it is easy to find and it shows up in search

I see that this was a poll at one time, asking whether DVD folders or ISO files were preferred. Why did DVD folders win? Is there an easier way to burn a DVD than burning the ISO file to a disk?

I download the DVD folders and convert them to ISO, then I burn the ISO. Am I adding an extra step?

You just burn the dvd folders straight to the disk.

No muss, no fuss.

Of course, that's the one thing that quit working once I installed Vista. I can still burn the disk that way... but the DVD player won't play it. Gotta convert to ISO now.

Funny, that.

What burning software are you using? I remember for Windows, Nero would make an unreadable disc if I simply burned the VIDEO_TS folder to a regular data disc. When I changed the setting to burn an actual video DVD, the disc was readable in a regular DVD player.

Of course, on my Mac I just drag the VIDEO_TS folder to the blank DVD and click "burn." Easy peasy.

Also if you don't want to burn it to a DVD, simply get VLC, and tell it to open a directory, chose the VIDEO_TS folder and that's it! You can even play with the de-interlacing settings and make the video ultra smooth and sharp. That's what I do anyway.

I was just using the windows crap (because my shitty, ancient burner was no longer talking to the shitty, ancient software that came with it (I don't even remember what it was called). I just figured out that a combination of DVDShrink and IMGburn did the trick.

I actually just picked up a nice new burner that I'm hoping will rectumfy... uh, I mean rectify... the situation.

Edit: ... the new drive came with Nero !!

BTW, Is it just me or does Keith_Buckeyes have a post count of 0, even though he has at least one post?

Maybe someone thought it wasn't good enough for a first post? :!
Silly nonexistant newbies... :p

Not sure why that would be... I'll ask around.

EDIT - post count seems to be disabled here in general for some reason... it isn't you, Keith. :)

Just noticed my post count is down too. I used to have a little over 1000...

If BP is implementing a quality program for the posts, my numbers are going to tumble worse than Charlie Weiss' stock rating. :(
