i wonder if anyone has considered the seedbox service i mentioned a few weeks ago? whomever the poor guy is doing the initial seed is trying to support the hundreds of requests and it's taking a couple days to get any reasonable number of seeds. with a seedbox we could cut that time to a couple hours. at the moment (late saturday night your time) there are 75 leechers sharing 14% of the file and zero seeders. (thank god timBUCK2 has DHT enabled on this torrent!)

alternatively, maybe the file could be uploaded to an ftp site where only 4 or 5 dedicated seeders could download it in the traditional way and seed it. or email the torrent to 4 or 5 seeder volunteers and let them finish first before publishing the link. the challenge is we progress at a snail's pace for the first day or two and then as soon as the first people finish the downloads go really fast. we really need a half dozen seeders or more to get started otherwise it;s 150 people fighting for what little bandwidth the initial seeder has and it takes longer for everyone to get it.

the other suggestion might be to find someone that could capture the broadcast other than timBuck2 using something like BeyondTV (Snapstream) or even Media Center. These capture as MPEG and compress to something like Divx in a fraction of the time it takes timBUCK2 to put together his DVD format. By breaking the recording up into quarters, someone could release the game in four 300MB files which are perfectly reasonable to view on the computer (though not nearly the high quality of timBUCK2's which are what you would want to replay on your TV).

I am in no way complaining or "looking a gift horse in the mouth". Just my ideas to help speed things along because I have alot of Bittorrent experience. I am happy to volunteer as a dedicated 24-hour seeder but I am outside the USA and can't help with the video capture.
